The weekend that The Shack movie released, I was honored to be part of a growing conversation hosted by New Canaan Society at their annual men’s conference in Washington DC. The theme of the weekend was Broken Together, which highlights two significant admissions: we men are broken human beings and our stumbling toward wholeness is going to be in the mess and risk of relationship.
As much as performance culture and, sadly, our religious heritage has driven us toward isolation and aloneness, we must understand and embrace our need for community that walks with us through the exposure of the dark places of the soul.
Enjoy the conversation above! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the topic too.
